Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how InspectorKit ("InspectorKit", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information: name, email, and profile details you provide.
  • Business and workflow data: information entered to manage inspections, reports, appointments, agreements, and invoices.
  • Voice notes and transcripts: audio you record in the app for report comments, and the text transcripts generated from that audio.
  • Support communications: messages, photos, videos, and files you send when you contact support, along with the name and email used to identify you in chat.
  • Usage and device data: log data, browser details, pages viewed, and interaction events.
  • Payment-related data: billing details processed by third-party payment processors.

2. Google Data

If you connect Google products to InspectorKit, you give us permission to access and use information from those Google products only as needed to provide and support the Services you choose to use. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not retain user data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train non-personalized AI or machine learning models.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Process transactions and subscription billing.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
  • Monitor performance, detect abuse, and enforce our terms.

4. AI Features

When you choose to use AI-powered features, InspectorKit may send inspection content to OpenAI to generate, draft, rewrite, or transcribe inspection content. That can include comment text, photos you select for processing, voice-note audio, and the transcripts produced from that audio. OpenAI processes this information as a service provider for these features. We ask for your permission in the app before sharing this data with OpenAI.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, and operate the Services.
  • Payment processors for billing and payment handling.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or business transfer.

We may share inspection content with OpenAI when you choose to use AI-powered features, including comment text, photos, voice-note audio, and transcripts. When you open web chat support, we share your user id, name, and email with Chatwoot so the conversation can be identified, and any messages or attachments you send go to Chatwoot. Chatwoot support is not loaded or available in our native mobile applications. We require service providers that process information on our behalf to protect that information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable requirements.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services and satisfy legal, accounting, and security obligations.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and performance. You can manage cookie settings through your browser controls.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can be guaranteed fully secure.

9. Your Choices

You may update account details, request help with data-related questions, and manage communication preferences by contacting us.

10. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account or personal data by contacting us at hi@inspectorkit.com. We may retain information where required or permitted for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate obligations.

11. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The most current version will always be posted on this page with the updated date.
